About Logistics & Materiel Management
Dear Ann, We are first of all a support team for the Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science (HSSEAS). As you can see on our web site main page, we provide many different services for the faculty, staff and students at HSSEAS. Part of my direct responsibility is to help move new professors to HSSEAS and setup new labs to the exact specifications of the new faculty member to make sure his or her research can be conducted here at their new facilities as quickly and efficiently as possible. Sometimes we have to unfortunately coordinate the move of a faculty leaving HSSEAS too. We help move people to different buildings due to larger space requirements. We help setup new offices and student cubicles. We help renovate office and lab space to accomodate more staff or students. Currently we are dealing with a brand new building that should be available by early 2007. Once this building is ready, we'll help coordinate many moves from the Boelter to the new Building and others coming into Boelter from the E1A bldg. This is the Logistics part of our operations the Materiel(with "e") part is a combination of many materials and service and support that we provid as you can see them outlined in the main page of the web site.
